This site is dedicated to the memory of Shirley Winship.

So then I'm fast approaching my 30th and it's my goal to run a half marathon! I want to make those I've lost proud of me and end my twenties with a bang! I'm doing the Indian Queens Half Marathon (near Newquay) on 7th August 2011. I've chosen this charity because 22 years ago my brave mum lost her battle with ovarian cancer. Back then many women didn't have a chance against this type of cancer, but now 22 years on women are beating it, but survival rate is only 40% compared with breast cancer at 80% ( 1986 – 1995 was 26%, 1996 – 2000 was 33.3%) I'd love to help them try to get those figures to 50% and higher! Ovarian Action Cancer urgently need to raise £10million for the new Ovarian Cancer Action research centre, at Imperial College London – the UK’s first ever research facility entirely dedicated to ovarian cancer. So please dig deep and help me support them in achieving their goal whilst I achieve mine. No donation is too big or too small and your support is very much appreciated! Thanks guys!!!
